Merv McCasker Appeal and Benefit Show
Industry legend Merv McCasker has been diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumour on the liver and unfortunately at this point in time the future is not bright.
Merv has worked in the music and event industry for the past 40 years such as on the Big Day Out, Field Day, Park Life, Homebake, Dairy Farmers Country Fair to name a few.
Chemotherapy is not expected to assist greatly however there are other treatments but they are are not covered by Medicare or the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
A benefit is set to go ahead next week in Sydney in his honour, with funds raised going towards paying for these treatments. Here are the details:
Venue: Beresford Hotel, Sydney
When: Tuesday 8 May
The event will feature an auction of rock’n’roll memorabilia as well as various raffles that will feature goods and services donated by McCasker’s friends.
You can also donate now to The Merv McCasker Appeal.
Unfortunately Merv has not been well enough to work for the last few years and his beloved partner Jan is working to make ends meet whilst she should be at home with Merv.
Please help with whatever you can give. You can donate by clicking DONATE on the Support Act webpage https://supportact.org.au/the-merv-mccasker-appeal and you will receive a tax deductible receipt by return email.
Surely one of the most loved humans on the planet who has given so much to so many of us – this is an opportunity to help make the time he has left with us more comfortable and maybe we can find a miracle in medicine so he does not have to leave us.
Now’s the time to lend Merv a hand.
