About the Role:
Qvest Australia is currently looking for a Senior Engineer (Audio and Broadcast) with exceptional drive and work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and brilliant technical minds to join our Australian office based in Sydney.
You’ll lead projects from start to finish, designing, configuring, testing and commissioning professional audio and broadcast systems. Your role requires a robust understanding of audio, broadcasting technologies, advanced networking and ICT in live environments, setting the stage for collaboration with industry experts and innovation in media technology.
Your Tasks:
- Design and approve project concepts, including creating detailed systems diagrams and crafting proposals.
- Assist with technical preparations for complex proposals, aiding sales with technical consultations.
- Leading system configuration and acceptance tests, ensuring operational excellence.
- Ensure the success of on-site installations and commissioning, overseeing system go-live with precision.
- Solve technical challenges, providing efficient troubleshooting and problem-solving solutions.
- Ensure all documentation is kept up to date and adheres to compliance.
- Facilitate internal knowledge sharing and update the internal documentation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Project and Support teams, enhancing client engagement and communication skills.
- Exhibit technical craftsmanship in equipment assembly, rack building and cabling.
- Train and mentor junior engineers.
- Continuous professional development, keeping up to date with the latest technology.
- Be able to join the on-call roster and assist clients with urgent technical support requests.
Your Skills:
- Minimum tertiary education for professional audio, A/V or similar.
- At least 5 years in a technical audio, A/V, or broadcast engineer role.
- Expertise in professional audio systems including IP-based technologies like Dante, AES67, ST2110, PTP and Multicast.
- Hands-on expertise with a wide range of professional audio equipment including audio consoles, loudspeakers, microphones, and DSPs.
- Familiarity with setting up acoustics modelling and tuning of PA systems.
- Solid ICT knowledge including networking, system administration, virtualisation, and other enterprise systems.
- Well-organised, methodical, and accurate, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
