- Base Salary $63,898.70 plus superannuation, overtime and penalties
- 15% Attraction and Retention Allowance payable for 2 years

About the vacancy
As we continue to deliver a strong program in 2024, Adelaide Festival Centre is looking for two enthusiastic and suitably qualified individuals to undertake fulltime roles as technical theatre professionals in the Lighting Department
Reporting to the Head of Department – Lighting, these positions are responsible for the provision and operation of equipment and system support for performances in our venues and festivals.
Head Lighting Technicians have significant experience and are expected to attend and achieve the outcomes from departmental meetings, instigate repair and maintenance programs and pro-actively assist the Head of Department – Lighting as required.
Head Lighting Technicians are expected to model respectful behaviour to the team and to lead by example in both performance and attitude.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Lighting bump ins and outs, rehearsals and performances of shows and events
- Coordinate and participate in rehearsals and performances of productions and events
- Lead and manage Lighting crew ensuring all policies and procedures around employee entitlements and WHS and Risk are adhered to
- Liaise and interpret client requirements for productions, instigate actions that will achieve stated objectives and where appropriate, provide solutions
- Prepare, modify, apply and interpret show plans and documentation
- Undertake operational roles within the department including rostering, quoting and equipment logistics and hires
- In association with the Head of Department – Lighting educate, train, guide and develop staff in all aspects of Lighting including safe work practices
- Manage all equipment for production use, including checking equipment for damage or loss and initiating procedures for routine maintenance and repair
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of technical capabilities of all Adelaide Festival Centre venues and ancillary areas
- Communicate with Production Coordinators and other departments to ensure effective outcomes are achieved for Adelaide Festival Centre clients
Competencies and Skills
- Significant experience as a Lighting Technician in the theatrical and/or live performance industries
- Experience in operating either ETC EOS or GrandMA Lighting consoles
- Elevated Work Platform certificate
- Contemporary education, skills, knowledge and experience in Lighting equipment, design, operation and delivery
- Ability to consult, collaborate and effectively communicate and provide advice to a broad range of people in a range of contexts
- Possess a understanding of the entertainment industry, its terminology, traditions and protocol
- A commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service
- Experience within a multi venue arts centre (desirable)
- People leadership and team building skills
