The Role

We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic Commissioning Technician to join our Tech & Services team. This role will ensure all contracted jobs are attended within a timely manner, install, maintain, test and repair various equipment or systems in accordance with the company’s requirements.

$90,000 – $110,000 per year (based on experience)

 

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide technical input to projects from conception through installation and completion.
  • Identify and address technical or logistical impediments to delivering scope of work.
  • Identify special requirements for project, including but not limited to: test equipment, specialised tools, rigging support, custom mounting hardware.
  • Provide technical expertise on commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site.
  • Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting when needed.
  • Coordinate with Technical Delivery Manager and Senior Site Foreman to assist with securing the necessary hardware for installation.
  • Provide the Technical Delivery Manager documented test results from system testing and commissioning.
  • Required to travel to various job sites.
  • Complete all required project data entry accurately and on time as directed by the Technical Delivery Manager including handover and commissioning documentation.
  • Participating in communication channels and adhering to company communication standards as outlined by the Technical Delivery Manager
  • Performs quality checks; conducts job walks to ensure quality; prepares marked up, as-built drawings.
  • Continuous improvement and professional development, through training courses, hands on experience and in house training under direction from the Technical Delivery Manager
  • Assist in the Pre-Staging and Pre-Commissioning of equipment, ensuring early faults are identified, systems are up to date with firmware and software, and the required code is deployed, ready for an effective delivery implementation.
  • Partaking in Project Handover procedures, including Systems Commissioning, User Acceptance Testing and User Training.
  • Liaising and assist in the quotation/ project process, reviewing system designs and providing Technical input where requested and required by the Technical Delivery Manager.
  • Fault finding and liaising with colleagues to determine equipment faults
  • In concert with the Management Team, monitors all quality and safety issues related to the operations department. Actively promote safety as our priority.
  • Acts as the Company liaison for operational interface with customer representative(s).

 

Skills and Experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic.
  • Great customer service skills and rapport skills as you would be required to interact with customers / clients.
  • Good understanding of Office 365 general environment in particular MS Teams, Planner, SharePoint and Lists
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Audio Visual Service, Support or Provision
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and experience 
  • Ability to read and interpret AV drawings and schematics.
  • Someone willing to learn and develop their knowledge and skills in both Audio-Visual technology and Network Architecture
  • Technologically minded
  • Analytical mindset and willingness to work through an issue from beginning to resolution.
