Position Overview:
As a Sound engineer or Live Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in the execution and technical aspects of our live events. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment, ensuring flawless audio, Lighting, and visual quality during performances, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and dismantle equipment such as sound systems, lighting rigs, projectors, and video screens according to event requirements.
- Operate audio and video mixing consoles, ensuring optimal sound quality and visual presentation.
- Coordinate with event organizers, performers, and other technicians to ensure seamless execution of technical elements.
- Conduct pre-event equipment checks, including testing microphones, speakers, and other equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical problems during events, making quick and effective decisions to resolve issues.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of systems, including wiring and cabling.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Collaborate with other production team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient event operations.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, conducting regular maintenance and repairs when needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in live event production, AV technology, or related fields.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio systems as well as some knowledge of video projection, lighting, and stage rigging.
- Proficiency in operating audio and some video mixing consoles, such as digital audio consoles and video switchers.
- Familiarity with various industry-based software and equipment, including wireless microphones and multimedia playback systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work some irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client sites within Sydney as required.
