The Opportunity

The Production Coordinator – Contemporary Music is responsible for supporting the Program Coordinator – Music in the planning and delivery of the Perth Festival 2025 Contemporary Music Program.

During the event this role will be responsible for the on-ground event delivery including the delivery of the technical aspects of the program and:

• Supporting the Technical Director in the technical planning on contemporary music program delivery, providing detailed advice on event and venue logistics and site planning.
• Developing, negotiating, and adapting the Technical Specifications of the Music sites that will be shared with the artists/artists management.
• Acting as the primary contact for the promoters and producers in terms of all technical requirements. This includes liaising on behalf of Perth Festival with key supplier stakeholders in the quoting and organisation of additional quotes to the standard rig, and then presenting these quotes to the Producer/Technical Director.
• Preparing production schedules for site builds across the venue pillars of the contemporary music program.
• Liaising with Production administrator to raise purchase orders, monitor payments of invoices within the approved Perth Festival Events Budgets.
• Planning, budgeting, scheduling, delegating, and managing the logistics, technical production, suppliers, local government authorities and crew at venues during event delivery in consultation with the Technical Director.
• Attending internal and external meetings as deemed necessary for the scope of role, whilst positively representing the Perth Festival Production Department

The ideal candidate will meet the following selection criteria:

• 5 years of proven experience in Production Coordinator
• Proven experience working in a fast paced and high-pressure festival environment.
• High level organisation skills with the ability to organise, prioritise, plan, implement and meet deadlines in a live music environment.
• Sound knowledge of the performing arts industry and excellent networks.
• Experience in Site Management and Crew Supervising.
• Experience in hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Demonstrate specialised Live Events and Theatrical Technical skills.
• Proficiency in a range of computing skills and technology, including AutoCAD, Vectorworks or Sketch up.
• Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Special Requirement:

• Current, valid C Class Driver’s License 
• White Card 
• Forklift License (Desirable)
• Riggers Ticket (Desirable)
