About the Role

As the Seasonal Lighting Supervisor, you will oversee the setup and maintenance of production and site lighting while ensuring the artistic integrity of lighting designs. Your leadership will guide the lighting team in delivering outstanding performances throughout the season.

This is a seasonal contract role between December 2024 and April 2025.

The Opportunity

• Supervise the setup and operation of lighting equipment for performances, both as part of a team and independently.

• Implement safety procedures and practices to maintain a secure working environment.

• Participate in event and venue documentation, including fault reporting and consumables management.

• Collaborate effectively with the Lighting team, including staff from the Sydney Opera House.

• Assist in daily venue maintenance to ensure optimal lighting conditions.

• Inspire and motivate the lighting team, communicating a clear vision of success.

• Attend production and staff meetings, implementing directives as needed.

• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

About You

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a lighting supervisor or in a similar role.

• Practical knowledge of operating various lighting desks and equipment.

• Demonstrated confidence in leading and mentoring a team of lighting professionals.

• Strong understanding of venue and daily maintenance requirements for theatres or festival sites.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share ideas and inspire others.
