Abe’s Audio – Audio Engineer
Location: Working from home | Potential to work from a studio in Melbourne.
Salary: Between $60-$85k + Super, depending on the applicant and location.
All necessary production equipment can be supplied.
About You
- You’ve had at least 5 years of audio engineering/production experience
- You’re proficient in Pro Tools (Mac or PC, with a preference for Mac)
- You’re a quick learner and intuitively apply what you learn

Abe’s Audio is Australia’s audio production company serving clients in the media, marketing, advertising, communication, video production, animation and eLearning industries. With studios in Sydney, Launceston and Devonport, some staff based remotely and hundreds of clients around Australia, we’re a Tasmanian business with a national footprint.

Abe’s Audio has been operating for 26 years. While commercial production was a major focus in our early years, we’ve expanded into producing more complex sound design for video & TV programmes, long-form narration and podcast production projects. We still produce commercials; however, the shift in work and requirements of our clients means we need audio engineers who can also add value to these growth areas.
About The Role
Audio Engineers at Abe’s Audio consistently create and deliver high-quality audio. Using their technical and creative abilities, they are a crucial part of our team that produces a range of audio productions, including sound design for video, commercials, long-form narrations, eLearning, online content, podcasts and more.
Our Audio Engineers:
- Edit voiceovers and produce audio efficiently to a high standard.
- Make creative decisions regarding music bed and sound effect selection, creating content that delights our clients.
- Adhere to production deadlines and communicate clearly ahead of any delays
Facilitate client & voice directed sessions as required via multiple platforms, including Zoom, Teams, Source Connect, and in person. - Communicate with clients as required.
- Proactively flag & fix errors before delivering audio to a client.
- Share knowledge and work with the Head of Production to help others develop their technical skills.
- Provide other creative input where requested.
- Get their birthday off!
You’ll be given all the training and support you’ll need to thrive in the role, with plenty of room for growth.
Requirements

- At least 5 years of audio engineering/production experience
- Proficiency in Pro Tools (experience on Mac or PC, with a preference for Mac)
- The ability to work well and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to learn quickly and retain that information
- A willingness to grow in the role and undertake personal and professional development
- Strong communication skills
