We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Audio Visual Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing the installation and integration of networking and advanced audio visual systems in various commercial and educational settings. As an Installation Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring project timelines are met while delivering top-quality Networking and AV solutions that exceed client expectations.  This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

Perform setup, installation, calibration, testing, and integration of complex networking and audio visual systems, to include network racks, video walls, digital signage, audio systems, control systems, and more.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and clients to ensure accurate understanding of project requirements and objectives.

Create detailed installation plans and schedules, assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members, and monitoring progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.

 

Technical Expertise:

Demonstrate expertise in networking, AV equipment, cabling, signal flow, control systems, and integration of various components.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during installation, ensuring optimal system performance and functionality.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices in AV

Install, terminate, and connect network cables (copper and fiber optic) according to industry standards and company procedures.

Troubleshoot and diagnose cabling issues using test equipment such as multimeters, cable testers, and power injectors.

Pull and route cables through conduit, walls, and other structures following building plans and safety regulations.

Label and document cables and connections for easy identification and future reference

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored when not in use.

Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to lockout/tagout procedures, and following safe lifting practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Relevant technical certifications or vocational training preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial AV and networking installation 

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.

Knowledge of audio visual equipment, signal routing, control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc.), and video conferencing technologies.

Familiarity with IT networking concepts and protocols.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients.

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Strong knowledge of different types of network cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7, Fiber Optics, etc.) and their associated specifications

Proficiency in the use of hand tools, drills, crimpers, strippers, and other related equipment. 

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.

Experience working on large commercial projects. 

Knowledge of RCDD design principles and BICSI installation best practices. 

Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. 

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

  • Travel to rural WA and occasionally interstate may be required.
