Behind The Scenes has been supplying and installing professional lighting, audio-visual, staging and curtain equipment for over 35 years. From individual product sales to fully integrated venue solutions, we have succeeded in building a strong client base that includes educational institutions, theatres, entertainment venues and commercial sites. Our long standing reputation means that this not a typical Sales role – our customers come to us so there is no pressure tactics or cold calling. 

Instead, we focus on providing solutions and work in partnership with our clients to provide innovative, customised, and flexible lighting, audio, vision, and staging systems. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with good interpersonal skills and a strong interest in the creative industries. Initially, you would be assisting our Technical Consultants to manage projects, from initial planning through to delivery and handover. You will receive ongoing training and support in a friendly, team-based environment with opportunities to advance. Key Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Technical Consultants in designing, recommending and sourcing equipment to prepare quotes and project proposals. 
  • Conducting site visits in conjunction with others to learn to provide product and installation solutions for a range of clients.
  • Proactively implementing a range of strategies to generate opportunities and develop new client relationships. 
  • Collaborating with clients, suppliers, builders, and others to create effective solutions for a range of venues.
  • Providing technical support and follow-up training to clients.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through training, professional publications and networks.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Genuine interest for professional audio, AV, lighting, staging and curtains or similar.
  • A passion for theatre and all that is “behind the scenes”.
  • Strong visual and spatial skills. 
  • Excellent organisation, time management skills and good attention to detail (Quality is what we have built our reputation on).
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to use Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office software. 
  • Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to effectively work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Initiative and a willingness to undertake self-learning.
