The Role

ABC Audio Radio Operations is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to record, mix and transmit audio content on multiple platforms and provide specialist support to content teams to produce audio of the highest quality. 

The Job

Reporting to the Supervisor Audio/Radio Operations Victoria,  you will:

  • Assist with rostering the Victorian Radio Operations pool and manage associated studio resources.
  • Provide outstanding operational support to programs for live to air transmission as well as for pre-recorded programs, features, outside recordings and broadcasts, live music and podcasts and radio features.
  • Provide high level leadership and guidance in planning of complex Outside Broadcasts, Music Recordings and Podcasts and deliver mentoring opportunities.
  • Apply substantial technical knowledge of sound recording equipment and digital workstations used in Audio Radio Operations to monitor and address operational and transmission problems.
  • Perform complex mixdown for studio and field production.
  • Liaise with producers and content teams in planning and coordinating productions and be the first point of contact for operational issues for broadcast and online audio.
  • Develop and deliver training for content makers and audio engineers guiding and influencing colleagues to develop their technical and creative skills.
  • Assist with rostering the Victorian Radio Operations pool and manage associated studio resources and staff.

About You

With outstanding operational expertise and a thorough understanding of radio production processes and technologies, you will:

  • Have a demonstrated outstanding ability of using relevant online technologies, systems and equipment in both the analogue and digital domains. 
  • Have a high level understanding of radio network arrangements and proven ability to adapt to new technology, including demonstrated knowledge of systems including VOIP/DANTE/MADI and Tieline infrastructure.
  • Have experience in planning and prioritising projects and tasks, delivering with a high attention to detail while working under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Relevant educational qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
