About You
We’re searching for a dynamic leader to fill the role of Audio Specialist, and this is no ordinary opportunity. We’re seeking a visionary who can cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and peak performance, all while providing support and guidance rather than simply issuing commands. Your ability to build trust, communicate authentically, and ignite creativity will be your guiding light.
As a key influencer within the Technology Services Department, you’ll collaborate with customer experience tribes and operational services to ensure that best practices are followed and knowledge is shared. Your agile mindset will champion a culture of growth, self-leadership, and development. You’ll oversee training to ensure our team is equipped with the skills needed to excel in the technical field. On the technical front, you’ll be the go-to expert, providing advice to customers and planners, hands-on assistance for complex events, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch audio services.
Financial savvy is also a must, as you’ll manage budgets, optimize revenue streams, and report on ROI targets. In the broader community, you’ll build strong relationships with external partners, promote MCEC as an AV industry employer of choice, and advocate for best practices in the field. What you’re here to do
- Demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
- Provide support and guidance, and help prioritise, rather than ‘command and control’ directives.
- Provide advice and support to customers and planners in optimising service design for event delivery requirements.
- Provide advice and support to technicians and delivery teams in the delivery of specialist services, including hands-on assistance for peak periods and technically complex events.
- Ensure audio related services are delivered to expected quality and service standards.
- Ensure expenditure on audio services and labour associated is managed within the allocated budget targets.
- Ensure all resource and package management are performed consistently and to an agreed level of quality.
- Optimise the use of MCEC audio related services to ensure revenue is maximised.
- Produce capital expenditure reports on audio related services with regards to ROI targets
We are also looking for:
- Construction card
- EWP license
- Relevant trade and/or tertiary qualifications
- DANTE Certification
- Extensive experience using industry standard audio systems, hardware, software.
- Proven capability in design, configuration, and operation of audio systems to maximize the quality for live events.
- Demonstrate live sound / mixing techniques.
- Experience with AV/IT systems
- Demonstrated experience using DAW’s.
- Composure and ability to lead with confidence and calmness when faced with competing high-priority projects and difficult decision making.
- Complex troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills required when working with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels within the organisation.
