Salary: $89,389.51 – $97,934.65 + 11.5% super contribution

About the Role:

Reporting to the Strategic Events Lead, Major Events Producers will lead, coordinate and project manage Councils’ large-scale events and festivals. The role will include engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including local businesses and the general community.

  • Your main responsibilities will include producing and leading the operational aspects, and creative components for the Council’s high profile and large-scale events.
  • Contribute to the creative and strategic development of existing and new events
  • Evaluate and report on our events, facilitating systems for retrieving analytics and feedback to help us improve the event-goer experience
  • Work in collaboration, and provide guidance to, our junior producers towards execution of a joint project.
  • Coordinate the engagement of contractors, stallholders/vendors, suppliers, performers and artists involved in the delivery of the event including the supervision of these parties, and event staff onsite (permanent staff,  casual staff, volunteers)

 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in leading event coordination across a variety of event types including community or greenfield festivals to corporate functions. You will also.

 

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in events, communications, public relations, or marketing
  • Have proven experience managing various projects simultaneously
  •  Have strong project management experience, and have coordinated various components of an event (i.e. stallholder acquisition and coordination, stage programming, registration)
  • Strong communication skills to interact and collaborate with a wide range of business units, customers, clients and suppliers
  • Proven capacity to be able to deliver a project from conception to completion
  • Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, and possess strong communication and negotiation skills to yield the best results for your projects and the community
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Hold a Class-C Driver’s License
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and evenings where required
  • Experience working within the Local Government sector, including knowledge of protocols, procurement procedures and compliance is preferable however not required
