Technical Events has a fantastic opportunity for a Senor Audio Visual Technician to join our expanding team. We are an AV production company based in Melbourne, providing outstanding technical production services for a wide range of clients and events.
Your background as a Senior technician will include experience predominantly in digital audio consoles and high-end vision switching. Knowledge of basic or intelligent lighting is also advantageous. Ideal candidates will have at least 5yrs+ AV experience, Cert 111 in a relevant course or higher.
As an experienced Senor AV Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking the following duties.
- Oversight of full delivery of major events
- Deliver and operate events as required.
- Supervise preps, loading, set up, operation, pack down and de-prep as required.
- Work with the Directors to ensure strong technical outcomes for clients and events.
- Manage crews during event set up, operation and pack down.
- Work with warehouse manager to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal working order.
- Supervise & participate in the training of crew in the operation of AV equipment.
- Ensure brand consistency with the delivery of events to the highest standard possible.
- Ensure the successful delivery of events according to the technical needs of clients.
- Assist with developing OH&S systems and help ensure OH&S policies are adhered to during the setup, operation, and pack down of events.
- Identify areas requiring improvement & introduce policies or procedures assist with the efficient
- running of the business and maintaining industry best practice with all business operations.
- Ensure operational reports are compiled for events.
- Communicate with Clients at a senior level to resolve issues and enquiries.
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
- Liaising with Clients and other Contractors during the set-up, operation and bump out of events.
- Attend site inspections and meetings with clients if required.

Applicants should have the following.
- Experience in the audio-visual events industry as a senior technician
- Must have smarrt software training and can demonstrate ability to tune large and complex systems
- Has completed Shure advanced wireless workbench training
- Has undergone Dante training and certification??
- Is familiar with array calc, R1 & noise calc products from d&b
- Up to date knowledge and experience in digital audio consoles.
- Up to date knowledge and experience with vision switchers and IT systems
- Up to date knowledge and experience with basic and intelligent lighting and programming is highly regarded.
- Highly presentable in corporate environments
- Punctual and able to prioritise.
- Flexible attitude towards work hours
- A desire to develop and learn new skills.
- Able to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- Impeccable customer service skills
- Current Drivers licence required.
- EWP is preferable.
